Several years ago a talented woman I know started a design business. She had experience already designing beautiful homes working for a custom builder in suburban Detroit. The name she chose for her company was "Inner Beauty".. I appreciated that moniker for the wink it made at an underlying philosophy more than its double-entendre. (I have been happily married to that woman now for nigh on to 15 years now.)
When I first met Vic and Vickie Bennett, I was attracted to their idea of Vasaio Life Spa - a place that would strive for "inner beauty" while ostentatiously funneling energy into the sensuous beauty we all look for in the creation around us.
My passion is for a holistic beauty, the likes of which one encounters occasionally in unexpected places - a beauty that blossoms in the genuine smile of "the-girl-next-door". When she smiles her beauty radiates like the sun come from behind a cloud. That kind of beauty is accessible to everyone.
My hope is that anyone who comes into Vasaio for respite from the noise and clouds of exhaust, would find a place where one can let down one's guard and refresh. That might begin with a skin treatment or a massage that revitalizes and renews deeply. From there, I see a progression that moves through the whole body, spilling into one's life. I hope that seeing an improvement in skin tone or a reduction in blemishes might lead to a renewed interest in eating what the body needs and using one's muscles as God intended--to run, to swim, to propel us through the beauty around us. The result? A renewed sense of appreciation and responsibility for the external and inner beauty within reach of us all.
