Hylaform

What is Hylaform?
Hylaform is a natural, cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds. It is made of all natural hyaluronic acid which already exists in the human body. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds over one thousand times its weight in water.

How does the treatment work?
Hylaform is injected in small amounts underneath the skin with a tiny needle to fill creases, wrinkles and folds. It is also injected around the lip area to create volume. Treatment can be performed at any time. To maximize comfort, an anesthetic topical cream or anesthetic block may be applied.

Is Hylaform safe?
Hylaform is a safe treatment because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and therefore dissolves naturally with time and is safely integrated into the body' s tissues. Your doctor will tailor your Hylaform treatments according to your individual needs, such as the depth of the wrinkles and desired lip enhancement.

Are there any possible side effects?
There are a few possible side effects including swelling, redness and, in some cases, bruising.

Will there be any downtime?
There is generally no downtime. There may be some temporary swelling for the first twenty-four hours.

What are the results?
Hylaform can either shape facial contours, smooth wrinkles or sculpt lips. Your facial features are left looking healthy, youthful and fuller.

What to expect after treatment:
On some occasions, there is slight redness or swelling. This temporary discomfort lasts a couple of days. After treatment, you may resume regular activities.

How soon will results appear?
Your results appear as swelling diminishes.

How does the treatment feel?
The treatment is injected through a very thin needle. Some discomfort is to be expected, but a topical anesthesia may be applied if desired.

Is additional treatment necessary?
Additional treatment is necessary to keep the look persistent. In a few months the hyaluronic acid will begin to fade, and another treatment will be necessary to maintain results. Generally, two to three treatments per year are necessary for the maximum results.
